CARE
for Families

Helping families and carers to support people with mental illnesses
CARE for Families is an innovative, free program that aims to assist the families and carers of people with mental illnesses in their caring role.
We recognise that it is often families and carers who provide the bulk of support to people with mental illnesses, without training and support of their own. By helping families and carers work together with their loved one, CARE for Families will help people with mental illnesses AND their families and carers.

C.A.R.E. EMPLOYMENT, in partnership with the NSW Department of Education and Training, is about to launch a new 12 month innovative project to assist mental health clients to find employment.
The Mental Health Job Ready Resources Project will harness the knowledge of clients, service providers and industry experts to develop learner guides and trainer guides, as well as an assessment instrument, to help Employment Consultants working with people with a psychiatric health disability. In addition, a Job Seeking Resource Kit will be developed for clients.
The Mental Health Job Ready Resources Project is the first of its kind in Australia. Resources will be piloted "on the job" at C.A.R.E. EMPLOYMENT and at other open employment agencies.
Essentra Essential Personnel
has been contracted to develop the learner guides, under the direction of the project steering committee.
C.A.R.E. EMPLOYMENT invites expressions of interest from community members who would like to be a part of this exciting new project. If you would like to participate, or need any further information please contact Melissa at melissa@nautilus.org.au .
